Child Directed Play- Part 5: Toy Checklist for Play Time

As we wrap up this series about special play time, we wanted to provide you a play time checklist of items that may help your child feel more comfortable expressing their emotions! It can be helpful if you can afford it to have a few new "special" toys just for this regular time together. However, as a reminder this time is about you two connecting and can be a blast without any special toys! These are just a few ideas.

As your review this list of of items, keep in mind they are meant to help your child feel safe sharing their full range of emotions without, even if they are hard for us. Angry or aggressive play is not inappropriate in this environment, as long as everyone is safe, as it allow children to share these big feelings with their safe person!

We really hope you enjoy this special playtime together and would love to hear about this sweet time!
